It’s a beautiful day on West Coast, especially when your Onc calls to tell you that everything looks great – no more masses in the pelvic area. Hallelujah! I had a good feeling going into it, and you all really helped me keep my chin up!
It appears that I really did have a functional cyst that ultimately ruptured, creating an infection. This explains the symptoms – apparently a month ago my ovary was 2x as big as it normally would be! So what the tech was telling me was that my ovary looked like a normal, healthy ovary. Small, healthy, and I get to keep it!
I was soooo worried about losing another piece of me. The Onc went immediately to “take it out”, but I am so glad that I opted to give the pills a chance. Yes, true, I now have to go back ON birth control – something I fought after my hysterectomy (I mean, really, what IS the point?), but apparently it helps to protect the ovaries, and now I’m dedicated.
Could we just CALL them something else? ;-) How about “hormone assitance” pills?
Well, I’ve still got a lot to say, so you’re not getting rid of me that easily. After all, every day is about survival, not just when were in crisis.

Awesome! I have a friend with polycystic ovaries. I hear it can be very painful when they rupture. Hope the pills keep it under control! Enjoy the extra beautiful day!
